About

thomas-gillett-georgia-real-estate-license-instructorInstitute of Real Estate Training (iRET) is a wholly owned D/B/A of The Tom Gillette Company, Inc. (TGC).  iRET is licensed by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (School Code 7435) to offer pre license, post license and continuing education to the real estate industry.  Tom Gillett, who is the President and owner of TGC, started a real estate career almost 40 years ago and has a passion for education and training.  As the senior instructor for a large real estate pre license school, Tom literally conducted thousands of classes and taught tens of thousands of students.  Tom brings this passion and experience to the classroom making the time spent together productive and fun!

Every in class real estate pre license course is either instructed by Tom or an instructor who has been handpicked and trained by Tom.  These instructors are the best of the best and Tom demands that they bring their “A” game to every session.  At iRET we respect the fact that you have chosen to spend your time and money with us and you indeed could have done so elsewhere.  At every interaction, we will try to validate your decision to be one of the best you have ever made!  Whether you are taking an in class course or live instruction, we will be there for you before, during and after the class.

In 2007, Tom was contacted by Thomson-Southwestern, the largest publisher of textbooks in the world, to author a textbook specific to Georgia real estate. Tom partnered with Texas attorney, author, and speaker Charles Jacobus, who had the number one real estate text book in the nation.  Tom literally tore this text apart and then re-wrote and reassembled it into the most practical and effective  text available in Georgia  today.  The product which came from that effort is Georgia Real Estate:  An Introduction To The Profession 7e.  This is the text which is used in the live instruction classes and is recommended for online courses as well.

Tom’s efforts have been recognized over the years as he has twice (2003 and 2012) received the Instructor of the Year award from the Georgia Association of REALTORS®.  In 2006 Tom received the Distinguished Career Award from the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association and for 2012 Tom was recognized by his peers as the Captain of Industry for his home board of REALTORS®.
